چکیده

Geothermal pavements have the potential to reduce pavement surface temperature by circulating fluid in pipes within structure. This research investigated an innovative geothermal system with multiple benefits, such as reducing and harvesting heat energy for power generation. aimed provide understanding of mechanical properties constructed construction demolition (C&D) waste materials through large-scale physical testing, experimental small-scale prototype numerical simulation. The were assessed under long-term traffic loading conditions using a test system. repeated load triaxial repeated-load California bearing ratio tests also undertaken evaluate effect pipe inclusion on permanent deformation, stiffness, strength base. A model was subsequently developed calibrated data from testing. In addition, effects flow rate thermal performances this research. base layer found negligible detrimental deformation behavior RCA. resilient moduli recycled concrete aggregate (RCA) samples slightly decreased pipes. An HDPE reduced stiffness RCA + mix. On other hand, copper pipe’s high improved mix’s strength. simulations indicated that pipe, increasing 500 mL/min 2000 approximately 1.3%, while resulted 4% further decrease compared pipe.

Properties of Concrete Paving Blocks and Hollow Tiles with Recycled Aggregate from Construction and Demolition Wastes

In recent years there has been an increasing tendency to recycle the wastes generated by building companies in the construction industry, demolition wastes being the most important in terms of volume. The aim of this work is to study the possibility of using recycled aggregates from construction and demolition wastes in the preparation of precast non-structural concretes. To that purpose, two d...

Nondestructive Dynamic Testing of Soils and Pavements

Non destructive testing techniques based on the application of dynamic loads on the surface of a soil deposit or a pavement system, and the measurement of the resulting deflection basins or the phase difference between the motions recorded at various receivers have become powerful tools in civil engineering. In many cases, however, the interpretation of the recorded data relies on static analys...

Implementing Prototype Testing Tools

Testing tools are software analyzers that use information from particular executions of a program as well as information about a specification and the program text itself. Research prototypes of such tools are essential to investigate the ideas they embody. Often, hand calculation is so tedious and error-prone that an investigator cannot obtain any intuition about his or her ideas without an im...

Branching of Dispersion Curves in Surface Wave Testing of Pavements

When a set of simulated multichannel seismic records acquired over pavement is processed by a 2-D wavefield transformation technique normally used in the Multichannel Analysis of Surface Waves (MASW) method, several branches are observed in the dispersion-curve image constructed from the transformation. Some investigators theoretically anticipated this branching phenomenon a few decades ago in ...
